Easter in Germany Part II

Exploring Frankfurt and dinner at Zenzakan
I had booked a room for us for one night at INNSiDE by Meliá Frankfurt Ostend. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and after checking in and freshening up we headed out to explore Frankfurt. We have visited the city a few times before so we just walked around, visited a cocktail bar, and eventually made our way to dinner. I had made a reservation at Zenzakan. The dinner was absolutely delicious and the restaurant was quite interesting.

Wiesbaden and Mainz
The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel, packed up and jumped in our rental car. As our flight was not until that evening, we decided to go explore a few cities in the region. First, we headed to Wiesbaden. Wiesbaden is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe. You can still find hot springs in the town. It was a rainy day so we sat down for a while at a café in between exploring the city. After a few hours of exploring we found a place for lunch and then we headed back to our car. Our next stop was Mainz and specifically its famous cathedral. The cathedral was dedicated in 1009 and is truly impressive. We also had afternoon coffee while in Mainz. Then it was time to head back to Frankfurt and the airport.

We had a great Easter visiting friends and exploring a few towns we had never visited before. I always enjoy visiting Germany. Next up will be a four-night working vacation in Tallinn.
